Capcom Makes Wii RE4 Easy
Capcom says that for Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, it is focusing on making the game more accessible to Wii gamers. makes sense, I suppose.
Producer Masachika Mawata and director Minoru Nakai have said that RE4: Wii Edition will feature Easy and Amateur modes, as well as the usual normal mode in a video interview. Easy and Amateur will feature a few modifications that should make life a little easier, such as an easy enemy lock-on feature and a gun laser sight with infinite range to make targeting easier.
Nakai conceded that use of the knife in previous Resident Evil games was tough because of the need to aim up or down; now, he says, you will be able to attack enemies and objects just by slashing the Wii Remote in that direction. The closer you are to the object or enemy the more damage you inflict.
"Our concept is 'easier'," said Kawata. "The number of hardcore gamers [who own Wii] is relatively small. A lower .....

IDC research analyst Billy Pidgeon has suggested that the Wii console will continue to experience supply problems until 2009, suggesting that Nintendo may see consumer interest in the console dip unless the issue is properly addressed.
“I’d like to see Wii hardware shipping in larger quantities or mass market consumers may cool on it. Having said that, I don’t believe supply will meet demand for the Wii until 2009,” he said.
Nintendo has a history of closely matching hardware availability to consumer demand, with the Nintendo DS Lite still seeing intermitten shortages in Japan, as has been the case since its launch in March 2006. There has been little sign of any improvement in the situation either, especially since availability has become more constrained in the West in recent months.
Elsewhere, and commenting on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the light of their outpacing by the Wii in the latest results, Pidgeon added that the more expensiv
'Soul Calibur Legend' Confirmed For Wii
Namco Bandai is introducing a new take on its tremendously popular 3D Soul Calibur fighting game series with Soul Calibur Legends, a third- person action game developed exclusively for the Wii.
Soul Calibur Legends will follow Siegfried and other Soul Calibur characters as they quest to save an empire from destruction. Using the Wii remote and nunchuk, players will perform moves and combos as they combat "scores of enemies and large bosses," according to an official statement announcing the game's development.
Soul Calibur Legends, which is set for release this winter, marks the second time the weapons-based fighting series has appeared on a Nintendo platform, following 2003's release of Soul Calibur II for the GameCube, a title that included Nintendo icon Link as a selectable character.
